Premiere: Listen to a New Remix from The Field
Axel Willner remixes a melancholic cut from HVOB's sophomore full-length on Stil vor Talent.
Kompakt mainstay Axel Willner (a.k.a. The Field, pictured above) has been enlisted to remix “Ghost” by Viennese duo HVOB, preceding the release of Anna Müller and Paul Wallner’s sophomore full-length, Trialog. Described as “an interdisciplinary art project, comprising a discourse between the disciplines of sound, video, and installation,” the album was realized with the help of Clemens Wolf and video artists licherloh and largely deals in moody textures with techno undergirding.
Ahead of Trialog‘s official release on April 17 via Stil vor Talent, Willner’s treatment of “Ghost”—in which melancholic vocals and a simple four-note bass refrain give way to yawning distortion and a flurry of arpeggiated synths—can be streamed in full below; the remix is set to be included on HVOB’s Ghost 12″, which will also include a rework from Pillowtalk when it lands on March 20. In addition, the dates for the HVOB outfit’s upcoming international album release tour have also been included below.
