Premiere: Stream Claude Speeed’s Upcoming EP for Planet Mu
The Edinburgh native continues to meld post-rock, noise, and electronic composition on the Sun Czar Temple EP.
After delivering one of XLR8R‘s top albums of 2014 with his debut LP, My Skeleton, Edinburgh native Stuart Turner (a.k.a. Claude Speeed) will return next week with the five-track Sun Czar Temple EP, his first outing for Planet Mu.
As he did so successfully on My Skeleton, the former Bubblin’ Up artist’s new EP finds him skillfully incorporating elements of post-rock, Reich-esque modern classical, gritty noise, and sprawling electronic collages into Sun Czar Temple. As a result, the EP’s five tracks are dense both in terms of sonic fortitude and emotional weight, bringing the listener deep into its enveloping ambient compositions, but having much more to offer than mere moody atmosphere.
Officially out on January 26 via Planet Mu, Claude Speeed’s Sun Czar Temple EP is streaming in full below.
