Premiere: Watch a New Video from Mister Woo
The techno trio's haunting video for 'Black Eyes' is streaming in full.
Techno-hybrid supergroup Mister Woo—made up of core members Reset Robot, Jon Gurd, and Tom Powell—released its scorching EP Black Eyes via the Derelicht imprint in December last year. Comprised of three originals and a remix from Whistleblower label-head Alan Fitzpatrick, Black Eyes positioned Mister Woo in a self-crafted hinterland somewhere between live, machine-driven techno and the left-field pop of Radiohead.
Now, in support of the release, Mister Woo has shared a fittingly dark and abstract video for “Black Eyes,” directed by Alex Beaumont. The video presents a series of hallucinogenic flashbacks that appear and fade like a half-remembered dream, interspersed with “sacred geometry and fractal tessellations, navigating a variation of frame rates to assist in eluding to paralysis and the ever changing psychological boundaries.” It invites the viewer to interpret “the story encapsulated by the black eyes,” and in turn create their own narrative.
Black Eyes is available to purchase here, with the official video streaming in full via the player above.
