Shcaa Debuts on Blank Slate; Hear Previews Now
The Parisian newcomer's two-track EP will see a vinyl-only release next month.
The ninth release from young Berlin-based label Blank Slate will arrive in the form of a two-track EP from Parisian upstart Shcaa. The vinyl-only imprint was founded in New York by Kamal Naeem and Soren Jahan, who now co-heads the Supply label and partners with John Barera as B-Tracks. Described as “not for the impatient, the submissive, or the unadventurous,” Blank Slate 009 includes two minimalist, nuanced collages built from field samples, nodding toward the Villalobos-inspired material released on the label under Jahan’s Düve and René Audiard aliases.
Blank Slate 009 follows from previous label offerings from the likes of Michal Wolski, Arnaldo, and White Visitation (who XLR8R singled out as one to watch during Bubblin’ Up week 2015) and is officially due out on 12″ vinyl on March 1. Until then, both tracks from the EP can be previewed below.
