Colin McBean (a.k.a. Mr. G) has made a new sun-kissed mix of 7″ records available to stream, spanning funk, soul and reggae.

McBean came to prominence back in the ’90s alongside friend and fellow producer Cisco Ferreira, under a number of different monikers—The Advent and KCC—before turning to focus on more solo work. As Mr. G, he has been putting out a wealth of rough and ready tech house bangers for over a decade, via his own Phoenix G imprint, as well as the likes of Rekids, Bass Culture and Holic Trax.

For this new retro-leaning mix, McBean has delved into a box of old 7” records, that moves between everything from Retta Young’s “(Sending Out An) S.O.S.” to Rick James’ “17.” It’s available to stream via our Soundcloud now.
