Montreal-based imprint Infinite Machine has recently introduced us to the tough, grime infused sounds of the producer Aphix—who is set to release his debut EP Ruby Grooves via the Canadian label on October 30.

Heavy, unsettling, and dark, the revisionist music of Aphix is an exercise in experimental club music that is not for the faint of heart. The attention to detail accompanied by the radical vibes that shine through in this producer’s work show similarities to that of the Night Slugs and Fade to Mind crew. Aphix manages to bring his own moments of haunting, devolving synth work to his music that is wickedly massive and wholly unique.
