Teste will return after 25 years with a new EP on BITE, the Berlin-based imprint of Hayden Payne (a.k.a Phase Fatale) and Florian Engerling.
Formed during the early ’90s in Hamilton, Ontario, Teste put out only three official records between 1992-1993 on Probe Records, most notably “The Wipe,” while the follow-up “Regions” also served as a template for the ensuing sonics of contemporary techno. The original Teste lineup then disbanded and the project vanished for decades until reactivating in 2014 when it began promoting a slew of remixes on the Edit Select imprint.
Teste now return as a duo formed by the original member David Foster, still at large as /ϟ/HUREN/ϟ/, and Martin Maischein (a.k.a Goner).
We’re told that The Box Man picks up where Teste last left off, with “their revolutionary vision of techno that “continues to further their interdimensional manifestation of insanity and formation.”
The five-tracker will be BITE’s second release.
