Brooklyn composer and sculptor Aaron Taylor Kuffner will be the next artist to deliver a 12″ for The Bunker. Operating under the name Zemi17, Kuffner (a co-creator of the Gamelatron project, the world’s first fully robotic gamelan orchestra) will bring his somewhat unconventional production skills to the label for the Impressions EP, which is said to host “two long and seductive tracks made entirely of sounds of insects, birds, motors, and urban noises spliced together with treated samples of gongs and metallophones to create lush techno compositions.”
In addition to providing that intriguing description, The Bunker has also provided preview streams of both EP tracks “Impressions” and “Rangda,” which can be heard below before Zemi17’s contribution to the fast-growing label (launched earlier this year) officially lands on September 1.
