Tim Hecker Shares “You Never Were” from Upcoming Companion LP
'Anoyo' LP lands May 10 via Kranky.
Tim Hecker has shared “You Never Were,” the latest track taken from his new album, Anoyo, out May 10 via Kranky.
“You Never Were” is a meditative journey that explores raw emotion, structural fragility, and sonic fragmentation. The interjecting layers of synth lines that crackle across the mix add a volatile state to a bed of warmly placed clusters of ambient waves and shape-shifting overtones. It follows “That World,” which the Canadian artist shared earlier.
Anoyo is a companion to Konoyo, Hecker’s previous album, which saw him collaborating with members of the gagaku ensemble Tokyo Gakuso. It’s even drawn from the same studio sessions at Mandala Temple, Tokyo.
Anoyo LP lands across CD, LP, and digital formats on May 10 via Kranky, with “You Never Were” streaming below alongside opener “That World.”
