Purveyor of bass-addled techno Tom Demac has collaborated with Will Samson on a forthcoming 12″ for Will Saul’s Aus label. Coming from very different musical backgrounds, the pair of artists apparently bonded by the “recent and sudden loss of close family members just a few short months apart from each other,” deciding to work together as a form of catharsis. The three-track It Grows Again EP emerges from the duo’s individual strengths: Samson’s tender tape recordings and hazy vocals pair with Demac’s penchant for weighted basslines and starkly veracious synth melodies. Arriving a year after Samson’s Balance EP and Demac’s XLR8R Pick’d Critical Distance Part 2, the duo’s EP will drop on October 28, but its tracklist and artwork can be perused before then, below.
A1 – It Grows Again
A2 – Chasing Shadows
B1 – Chasing Shadows (Formula Remix)
