Heard for the first time today on KCRW, and later released on SoundCloud, musical mastermind and vinyl lord RJD2 delivers a mellow, funk-laden remix of the Tycho track “Apogee.” The rework hit the airwaves ahead of the release of Awake Remixes on Ghostly International, which is set for digital drop on January 15 and physical release on May 20. Remixes of Tycho’s groundbreaking album for this forthcoming release come from a plethora of talented artists, including Com Truise, Bibio, Christopher Willits, Nitemoves, Dusty Brown, Baio, and Beacon.

While Tycho’s album Awake initiated a new chapter in his musical career as he transitioned from a solo act to performing with a full band, the remix LP comes at the start of his debut U.S. DJ tour, scheduled to run from February 10 to March 5 before bringing the band back together for performances at CRSSD, Ultra Music Festival, and Euphoria Festival.
