Anthony Gonzalez, the French mastermind beind LA-based synth-pop darlings M83, has just released the video for last year’s excellent “Steve McQueen,” a stratospheric single from the unprecedentedly great Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming double-LP. Continuing in the vein of the piece for his explosive “Midnight City,” Gonzalez’s new video—which was produced by Genero TV and directed by Balthazar Auxietre and Sylvain Derosne—features bright, vintage-looking footage of flying animal action figures and backyard fireworks, all of which effortlessly evokes M83’s endless love affair with childlike wonder and imagination.
