Veteran Hamburg DJ/producer H.O.S.H. (a.k.a. Holger Behn) has played an integral part in the continued success and growth of club-centric label Diynamic, thanks in a large part to his interest in the art of longform DJ sets. When focusing on production, however, Behn’s vast historical knowledge allows him to focus in on key details while keeping his arrangements efficient. “Dancer” is a fine example of that ethos, in which a clean house beat is paired with shimmering synth phrases. The video, however, takes a playful approaching to the visuals, as it follows the growth of a young girl who dreams of being a dancer. Its implicit naivety draws out the longing from within H.O.S.H’s careful production of “Dancer.”
