Lovers’ Rights (a production trio which consists of Dam Mantle along with members of Silk Cut and Golden Teacher) issued its debut self-titled EP via Glasgow’s High Sheen label last month—a five-track effort full of rolling house cuts including “Motivate,” a tune which now has a gooey video to call its own. Snakes, synths, rose petals, near-nude women, and an immeasurable amount of gooey sludge all make an appearance in the somewhat enigmatic clip, which does not attempt to put any sort of tangible narrative to the skipping, full-bodied club tune. While the version of “Motivate” heard above is available now on the Lovers’ Rights EP, the “Late Night Edit” of the song was offered up as a free download on XLR8R back in April, and can still be grabbed by heading here.
