After helming the inaugural Bangers and Ash release for Brooklyn’s Styles Upon Styles imprint (from which the free download of “Ding” is lifted), Netherlands-based Tomlaan has shared his trippy video for “Prehodni,” a b-side cut lifted off that record. The piece helps to illuminate the otherwise dreary track through the use of kaleidoscopic visuals that are tightly synced with the booming sub-frequency kicks. Like the elements in Tomlaan’s song, the imagery is both fragile and aggressive, and the variety of shapes and patterns displayed throughout the video express the songs varied vocabulary. But it’s actually the change in color from black and white to crimson reds and pale greens that marks “Prehodni”‘s evolving nature.
