Warp’s Arcola Sub-Label to Release Primitive Art Four-Tracker
Crab Suite' will land on June 22.
Warp’s Arcola sub-label will release Crab Suite from the Italian band Primitive Art.
Primitive Art is the project of Milano-based Matteo Pit and Jim C. Nedd. They formed the band in 2011 and in 2013 they released their first EP for Hundebiss, the label of STILL (a.k.a Simone Trabucchi). Pit handles the art direction of Club Adriatico, one of the most relevant Italian clubbing platforms; while Nedd recently co-directed “PICO Un Parlante De Africa En America,” a documentary about Colombian sound systems.
Crab Suite, recorded in 2015 and finalized in 2016, is Primitive Art’s follow up to their debut EP Problems. We’re told that it is a “darker take” on the Problems sound, and leads listeners into “stark territories.”
