The UK’s Channel 4 network and Dazed have continued their Music Nation partnership, with the excellent documentary series recently returning for its second season. Now the new season’s first installment, Open Mic—which chronicles the rise of grime in East London—is available to watch in full online.
Directed by Ewen Spencer (who was also behind the series’ Brandy & Coke documentary on UKG’s golden era), Open Mic aims to retrace the rise of London’s grime movement, including clips of and commentary from a number of the scene’s most influential figures including Wiley, Dizzee Rascal, Slimzee, Kano, and many more. Broadcast earlier this month (and previously available online only for UK viewers), the full Open Mic film can be watched via the player below.
