Following this week’s release of his collaborative track/video with Barcelona artist Sinjin Hawke, New Jersey-based Fade to Mind affiliate MikeQ has been interviewed for a new mini-doc which profiles the ballroom/vogue scene in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC. Director Citizen Hefetz also talks to a number of dancers and MCs at Club Escuelita for his piece, including promoters Luna Khan and Jack Mizrahi, who shed some light on the inner workings of their weekly Vogue Knights club and why it has remained vital to New York’s gay and transgender culture over the years.

The sightly NSFW mini-doc—which premiered today on Animal—serves largely as an introduction to the vogue/ballroom scene, and makes for an intimate companion piece to features like Resident Advisor’s recent look at sexuality in club culture throughout history, not to mention our own ballroom feature from 2011.
