Szun Waves—a psychedelic supergroup of sorts, comprised of renowned producer Luke Abbott, PVT‘s savant drummer Laurence Pike, and Portico Quartet composer Jack Wyllie—have released a transfixing new video for the first single from their forthcoming LP, New Hymn To Freedom.

The short film, which is produced and directed by Sam Wiehl, is a transfixing and mysterious exploration of the universe set to album cut “Constellation.” Utilizing ink, paint, solvents, 3D models, and Oust Air Fresheners, the film presents “views of distant unchartered galaxies, sprawling gas clouds, solar flares, and giant planet storms,” as Weihl explains, “capturing the otherworldly sound of the track.” “Constellation” and its film accompaniment provide worlds to get lost in, drawing the listener—and viewer—in with shimmering melodies and confounding rhythms that astonish with deep-seeded emotion and sonic depth.

New Hymn To Freedom will drop via The Leaf Label August 28 on a range of formats, including a deluxe limited-edition double white vinyl LP, and can be pre-ordered here, with the film for “Constellation” streaming in full via the player below.
