Watch a Video From Ableton on Transferring Music From Studio to Stage
Mattokind's Cristiano walks through his complex but well-thought out live rig and shares a live set for users to experiment with at home.
Ableton has released a set of videos following Berlin-based duo Mattokind (a.k.a. classically trained violinist Jae and electronic producer Cristiano) as they prepare their music for live performance.
In the video, Christiano details how he uses a range of MIDI controllers—Ableton Push, Novation Launchpad, Livid Cntrlr, Allen & Heath Xone:X2—to replicate, launch, and control aspects of their studio music in a live setting using Live, as well as a few tips for real-time control of Live. His setup allows intuitive control of Live’s effects chains, VSTs, drum racks, and samplers while retaining a real-time human interaction with the music.
