Claude Speeed, the Scottish musician born Stuart Turner, has shared a melancholic new video for “Taj Mahal,” taken from his recent debut full-length for LuckyMe. My Skeleton, which Turner composed while trekking around Asia with minimal gear, came described as “a deliberate, dreamlike work about structures, economy, memory, and loss”—themes reflected in “Taj Mahal.” Directed by Peter Marsden, the video shows Turner traipsing through a forest and constructing a sort of memorial out of lake stones, soundtracked by his own vocals, spectral synths, and reverb-saturated guitar chords. Turner’s recent Bubblin’ Up profile for XLR8R can be read in full here, and the video for “Taj Mahal” can be watched below.
