Chillwave (is that really what we’ve settled on?) poster boy Neon Indian just premiered his first music video ever for the exclusive Green Label Sound song, “Sleep Paralysist.” It’s strange to see such high-production-value images paired with music that’s so patently lo-fi, but the song itself is a step up in sound quality from producer Alan Palomo’s debut, last year’s Psychic Chasms. We wouldn’t say it’s selling out, but one can’t help but notice the shift Neon Indian has made from quiet bedroom producer to vintage-pop star revivalist soaked in the internet’s glaring spotlight. Let’s just hope the next album isn’t produced by Timbaland.
