Italian synth maestro Bottin has shared a new video for “Lies,” taken from his recent full-length for London imprint Bear Funk. Released in May of this year, Punica Fides found the Venice-based DJ/producer (who also works as a sound designer for the Venice Biennale) taking his cues from dark electro, new wave, and Italo.

Soundtracked by the serrated synths and spacey disco of lead track “Lies,” Bottin’s new video was shot on Super 16mm film in Venice, and opens with aerial shots of pastel smoke diffusing over the floating city before shifting focus to an enigmatic figure in a boat, held back by a billowing orange “toxic cloud.” Part satire, part arthouse short, the video was directed by Sara Tirelli and can be watched below in an XLR8R premiere.
