Earlier this month, Arca unveiled plans to release his debut full-length via the Mute label later this year, sharing a stream of LP cut “Thievery” in the process. Today, the Venezuelan producer has revealed a new video to accompany the track, which was created by longtime collaborator and visual artist Jesse Kanda. In this latest venture (following work on FKA Twigs’ “Water Me” video, A/V show TRAUMA, and Arca’s recent &&&&& mixtape) the pair conceptualize Xen—the central figure in the video—as “a meta-modern self-projection, embodying a side of Arca that had previously been hidden by a producer who’s so far remained one of the most intriguing enigmas in recent electronic music.”
Xen arrives in full on November 4, and in the meantime, the video for “Thievery” can be watched below. Arca has also announced a brace of European tour dates; all scheduled dates are also listed below.
November 27 – ICA, London
November 28 – Rotonde, Brussels
December 1 – Point Ephemere, Paris
December 4 – OT301, Amsterdam
December 5 – Kantine/Berghain, Berlin
