Weird Magic Announces New Imprint, Shares Inaugural Compilation Featuring Huerco S., Terekke, Aurora Halal, and More
Purple Trax will showcase rising experimental producers and personal projects.
Weird Magic party promoter and photographer Erez Avissar has announced plans to launch a new label, Purple Trax, and has shared the imprint’s inaugural compilation of unreleased music. According to the founder, Purple Trax will feature “independent, experimental music that wouldn’t otherwise get properly released.” To that end, the label’s first endeavor, Purple Trax Vol. 1, features new work from the likes of Huerco S., Aurora Halal, Terekke, Logan Takahashi (of Teengirl Fantasy), and Traxman. The entire compilation is currently streaming on SoundCloud, but Purple Trax hopes to press the music on vinyl with help from fans on Kickstarter. The label also has plans to release 12″ singles from Wabi Sabi, Far Out Far Out, and Joe Jones, along with an extensive singles series.
