The XLR8R crew is still buzzing and recovering from Detroit’s Movement Festival and the myriad of high-quality after hours parties attended. Not much sleep for the wicked however as the majority of our team now have moved on to Montreal’s Mutek to continue coverage.

May 27 – May 31 Mutek, Montreal, Canada
Already underway since this Wednesday, the 16th edition of the international festival of digital creativity and electronic music that is Mutek offers five nonstop days of internationally recognized artistic excellence. The highly curated and live focused festival takes place at Montréal’s Musée d’art contemporain (MAC) and various other venues in the heart of the city.
The number of notable performances are many and to mention just a few of them we look forward to this week’s XLR8R podcast artist Mathew Jonson, Lucy, Session Victim, Gunnar Haslam, Dan Bell, and the Hive project presented by Tyondai Braxton.

May 29 Diynamic Festival, Amsterdam, Netherlands
The third installment of the Amsterdam edition of the day-into-night festival will take place at Amsterdamse Bos. The lineup consists of core members including Solomun, Adriatique, H.O.S.H., Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Stimming, Karmon, NTFO, Thyladomid, Magdalena, DJ Phono and Ost & Kjex.

May 31 Piknic Electronik, Montreal, Canada
Dancing under the Calder continues this Sunday with an all Canadian lineup. My Favorite Robot records takes over both stages featuring the bosses themselves along with Nitin, Flowers and Sea Creatures – with a live performance by Wrong Jeremy, DJ Bliss, Mateo Murphy and Fairmont.
