Our weekend picks of events from around the globe
This weekend, Berlin megafest Melt! takes place at Ferropolis with a wide variety of acts including Autechre, The Black Madonna, Howling, Kylie Minogue, the Orb and many more. Over in the U.S. San Francisco crew Sunset Sound System‘s annual Sunset Campout party returns to Belden Town for a weekend of music, art, camping and swimming, with an array of acts including Magda, Axel Boman, Carlos Souffront and more, plus festival founders Solar, Galen and J-Bird.
Friday night, German dark techno act Ancient Methods, Sawf and others play for Samsara Sessions Meet π at Arena Club in Berlin, while over in London Fabric’s drum & bass centric FabricLive series continues with UK garage king DJ EZ, Los Angeles based DJ Haus, and Fred V & Grafix.
On Saturday, Anthology returns to Los Angeles at a secret warehouse location with a stacked Droid Recordings showcase featuring label co-founders and LA-natives Raiz, along with recording artists Kyle Geiger, Audio Injection and Dirty Epic’s own Whipnotiq – expect full techno immersion. Over on the east coast in Brooklyn, Body & Soul veteran Danny Krivit takes over Output starting on The Roof for an all day 718 Sessions affair, followed by a nighttime House Classics closing set inside the Panther room for the Horse Meat Disco party.
Smart Bar Chicago hosts a Sunday night Warp Records party featuring Caribou‘s Daphni, Clark, Sicko Mobb and Feral, while over in Los Angeles Sunblock continues its daytime Standard rooftop series with Glasgow’s Jackmaster.
