We’ve been salivating at the prospect of new music arriving from Pampa label boss DJ Koze (“pictured” above) since we first heard about his upcoming album last month, so you can imagine our excitement when this fresh collaborative tune from the German artist and Caribou (a.k.a. Dan Snaith, Daphni) hit our inbox. Called “Track ID Anyone?,” this slow-bouncing and eclectic house production is not only our first taste of the Amygdala LP, but also the album’s opening cut. Look for the rest of DJ Koze’s new full-length record—which will also feature collaborations with the likes of Matthew Dear and Apparat, among others—when it drops on March 26.

Here, we’re treated to a video of breakout UK duo Disclosure performing its cover of Ralphi Rosario’s 1987 classic “You Used to Hold Me” live in Brooklyn. Following its first episode of the H?SHTAG$ series, Red Bull Music Academy delivers this piece on the “post-dubstep” genre, which features interviews with the likes of Sepalcure (a.k.a. Machinedrum and Braille), Bondax, Mount Kimbie, and Deadboy. Music writer Andrew Ryce, SoundCloud representative Dave Hayes, and other figures of the wide-reaching realm of bass music also weigh in on the idiosyncrasies and permutations of the predominantly UK-centric sound. What’s more: Mount Kimbie’s full interview with RBMA is also featured below, during which the duo discusses the ideas and work that went into its forthcoming sophomore album for Warp.

Recently, BBC radio jock Annie Mac enlisted Hotflush boss Paul Rose (a.k.a. Scuba) to deliver a mini-mix of sorts, collecting what he considers to be the essential tunes from his trendsetting label’s catalog. Given the impossible task of distilling Hotflush’s wide-ranging catalog to merely seven tracks, Rose touches on some of the more obvious choices—Joy Orbison, Mount Kimbie, Sepalcure, etc.—while throwing in a couple of curveballs to keep things interesting. Portuguese label Enchufada continues its weekly Upper Cuts download series today, offering up Belgium producer Captain Steel‘s “Power Failure” for totally free. And with its haywire combination of tropical rhythms and bombastic club sounds, the explosive new single sounds like it could actually cause what its title infers. After grabbing “Power Failure” from the player below, be sure to check out the previous Upper Cuts offerings: Branko vs Njena Reddd Foxxx’s “(One More) Silly Bitch” and Elisa Bee’s “Beggin.”

The Italian-born, Berlin-based duo of Lucretio and Marieu (a.k.a. The Analogue Cops) is set to release its debut album, Heavy Hands, via its own vinyl-only Restoration label. Out sometime in mid-March, the release features appearances by longtime collaborators Steffi and Blawan, as well as a first-time collaboration with Stanley Anscrom (a.k.a. Eat). Though this marks the team’s first full-length effort, Analogue Cops has been spitting out releases under various monikers—such as Xenogears, OCP, Third Side (featuring Steffi), and Parassela (featuring Blawan)—over the past couple of years, a catalog which includes the noteworthy and recently reviewed Five EP. Group member Lucretio claims each record in Heavy Hands‘ double-12″ package ends with “experimental noise,” though you won’t get to hear it in the preview included below, where you can also check out the artwork and tracklist.

Taking place across three days and two nights in “the rolling fields of the Hertfortdshire countryside,” the Eastern Electrics Festival has confirmed a plethora of top-notch DJs and producers to perform this August—including the likes of Maters at Work (pictured above), DJ Koze, Maya Jane Coles, Moderat, MK, Maceo Plex, Planetary Assault Systems (performing live), Levon Vincent, and Huxley. Among the other artists named in the sizeable lineup are Bristol’s Eats Everything (who is preparing an EP with Justin Martin—also set to perform—that you can preview here), Cologne-based Kompakt boss Michael Mayer, UK bass mainstay Joy Orbison, Hessle co-owner and DJ behind the XLR8R Pick’d Fabriclive 67, Ben UFO, and hard-edged technoist Blawan, among many others. What may come as a surprise to some, but is an obvious choice to others, Chicago footwork don DJ Rashad has announced the details of his upcoming Rollin EP, set to be released via Kode9‘s Hyperdub label. The four-track record—which finds the artist contributing with fellow Chicago producers DJ Manny and DJ Spinn—will follow last year’s XLR8R Pick’d TEKLIFE Vol. 1: Welcome to the Chi, continuing Rashad’s exploration of highly-polished footwork sounds while also finding the maestro delving into jungle, R&B, and Detroit techno. Around its release on March 18, Rashad will be playing out the Rollin EP—among who knows what other fast-paced, ghetto-tinged gems—during his tour of Europe and the UK. London-based Hyperdub affiliate and Hum + Buzz co-owner Ikonika recently let go of a collection of unreleased dubs, offering them as a free download. The bass-centric DJ/producer uploaded five tracks as her Lost Dubs ensemble, all of which can be nabbed at no cost here. And if Ikonika’s gratis offering leaves you wanting more from the artist, she’s also a regular contributor to Rinse FM, and played a two-hour, back-to-back set with Night Slugs boss Bok Bok just over a week ago.
