Galtier ‘Charm Complex’
Australian-born Bristol-based producer Galtier will release his latest EP, Myth Codes, on the consistently reliable Infinite Machine imprint—with this EP, the label is already at six releases in 2016 alone and 46 since its inception.
Myth Codes, like most of Infinite Machines back catalogue, sits in the experimental bass realm. Synthetic textures, razor-sharp percussion, and alien-like synths trade off in a melting pot of dystopic sonics. Aside from the originals from the Nostro Hood System boss are two remixes from Luke West and lydes, who rework “Gold Bones” and “Chains,” respectively.

Tom Trago Preps EP for Aus Music
Voyage Direct label head Tom Trago will debut on Aus Music on September 2 with Being Broke.
Following on from big records from Recloose, Trevino, and Paul Woolford, Being Broke finds Trago channelling his signature sound—a fusion of disco, funk, and techno—brilliantly with four cuts aimed straight at the dancefloor. The EP features the title track and its instrumental version, as well as “Good Lies” and the lighter A Good Christian Edit.

Premiere: Hear a Track from Ivan Smagghe and Tim Paris’ New Project
On August 26, Ivan Smagghe and Tim Paris will release a self-titled album under the It’s A Fine Line moniker on Smagghe’s Kill the DJ imprint.
The 11-track LP features collaborative slots from three highly influential artists in their own right: Franz Ferdinand singer Alex Kapranos, vocalist Olivia de Lanzac from cult band Quad Throw Salchow, and Kill the DJ label companion C.A.R.. Continuing the collaborative nature of the project, Smagghe and Paris signed on renowned artist Gareth McConnell to create the artwork and a video component that is “hypnotic and kaleidoscopic, a celestial trip recorded on a used VHS tape.”
Smagghe states that “the refusal of club music conformisms” was the basis for the project and its sound, which has resulted in a collection of tracks that are more than difficult to try to pigeonhole to genre conforms.

Oren Ambarchi Announces New LP, Hubris
Oren Ambarchi‘s next album will drop via Editions Mego this November.
Australian experimental musician Ambarchi has close ties with Editions Mego, having already put a number of full-lengths via the Austrian imprint. For his next, he has recruited a host of contributors to help, which include Ricardo Villalobos (who provides “electronic rhythms”) and Mark Fell , as well as long-term collaborator Jim O’Rourke, and Crys Cole, Will Guthrie, Arto Lindsay, Konrad Sprenger, Joe Talia, and Keith Fullerton Whitman. The record promises to further his involvement with “relentless, driving rhythms,” this time taking inspiration from “disco and new wave” as a starting point.
Hubris is due out November 11. Pre-order it at Bandcamp.
Rondell Adams ‘Can’t Get Enough’
Rondell Adams is the latest addition to Jimmy Edgar‘s Ultramajic imprint. The Chicago-based artist, and son of Jackson 5’s first producer, Adams is set for a confident debut on the label with a a six-track EP, entitled Threshold To Madness.

Raster-Noton Unveils Grischa Lichtenberger EP Trilogy
Grischa Lichtenberger has a trio of EPs coming out on Raster-Noton this October.
Berlin-based producer Lichtenberger is a familiar face at the German experimental label, with an EP and two full-lenghts with them under his belt. His latest project is a trilogy of EPs on said imprint, entitled Spielraum | Allgegenwart | Strahlung. The recordings were originally set up to work as an experiment, each based around a different keyword, but all questioning the “connection between intimacy and the public sphere.” The result is everything from “distressing and unaligned dancefloor-oriented tracks to tribal and politically charged drones to unsettling noise ballads.”
Spielraum | Allgegenwart | Strahlung are due out October 7, both digitally and as a 3×12” vinyl package with handmade, signed and individualized screen prints by Lichtenberger himself.

Convextion Drops First Album in a Decade
A new Convextion album has appeared on Discogs.
2845 is Gerard Hanson’s first full-length as Convextion since his self-titled outing back in 2006 on Down Low Music. The new album is made up of seven characteristically spacy techno cuts, and is his first release with the Mojuba-affiliated a.r.t.less.
The news comes after what has been a relatively busy year for Hanson so far. Back in June, he resurrected the Convextion moniker after several years inactivity, with a two-tracker on Acido Records; prior to that, he partook in Solar One Music‘s Hubble Telescope series with an EP of new E.R.P. material.

Oliver Schories ‘Artik’ (Atapy Edition)
Chapter 24 is a UK-based house and techno label that endeavors to tell stories through its music and art. Chapter 24’s releases, each dropped in numerical chapters, have featured, among many others, Rafael Cerato, The White Shadow, AFFECT!, and Darin Epsilon, and on August 26, the label will reach its 20th chapter with an EP from Hamburg producer Oliver Schories.
Titled Artik, the release will come packaged with remix “editions” from Marc DePulse, Third Son, and Atapy—who evidently provided the label’s previous release. Much like Schories releases on Steyoyoke, Darkroom Dubs, and his own SOSO label, “Artik” is an artfully-produced club-based cut with shadowy grooves and subtle synth flourishes. On the remix tip, Schories’ Chapter 24 cohorts strip things back into deep dub territory, complimenting the original perfectly.

Premiere: Watch the Video for a Paranoid Track from Swarm Intelligence
RE:VIVE is an initiative by the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision that brings together audiovisual archives and forward-thinking artists and labels. The first project launched under the RE:VIVE banner was a collaboration with Lakker and R&S Records, titled Struggle & Emerge.
Up next, RE:VIVE will work with Amsterdam-based Fog Mountain Records for a various artists compilation titled Damrak—named after one of the oldest streets in Amsterdam that connects Central Station and the main square, De Dam. The release will feature works from Swarm Intelligence, PYUR, Know V.A., Lemontrip, ZES, Born in Flamez, Mill Burray, Arad, Avondlicht, and Cocktail Party Effect, all of which used only samples of archival field recordings and TV broadcasts made in Amsterdam.
The record will be released as a free download on September 16, with an inspired physical release to follow, featuring a photobook with each artist curating archival photographs—provided by the Dutch National Archive—that relate to their respective track.
In support of the release, RE:VIVE and Fog Mountatin Records have offered up a full stream of the video for Swarm Intelligence’s “NDSM Werf,” a dense and paranoid track inspired by old images of the NDSM Werf—an old shipyard in Amsterdam North which was once one of the largest shipyards in the world but after rough economic times was shuttered.
