Weekly Selections: Courtesy & Marie Davidson at Far Away, Outwatch NYC, Daniel Bell at ReSolute

On Friday night in New York City, kick off the weekend with a rare appearance from one of the world’s most sought-after selectors and a regular XLR8R Podcast contributor, Andrew James Gustav. The collaborative event from NYC promoters Outwatch and Regime is set to take place at Queens venue H0L0, and will feature support from local talents Estep and Zak Moon. On Saturday night in Los Angeles, make sure not to miss the return of the always reliable events series Far Away. Following a string of top-notch bookings this year from the likes of Four Tet, Daphne, Avalon Emerson, and Aurora Halal, this weekend sees Far Away organizers continue their streak with a headlining DJ set from Ectotherm mainstay Courtesy, and a live performance from rising Montreal-based experimental talent Marie Davidson. And back in New York City on Saturday night, the ReSolute crew returns for a very special occasion: techno legend Daniel Bell’s 50th birthday. The Detroit pioneer will be performance an exclusive live set under his DBX alias, and he’ll be joined by a slew of quality underground acts such as Audio Werner, Barbara Preisinger, ReSolute resident Connie, and the US live debut of Cabinet Records duo Cab Drivers.
