Weekly Selections: CRSSD Festival, Nastia at TBA x Nuit Blanche, Dance Spirit at Venice Gets DEEP

This weekend marks the return of San Diego-based electronic music weekender CRSSD Festival, which takes place at Waterfront Park on Saturday and Sunday. CRSSD’s Fall 2017 edition is set to feature another heavy-hitting lineup, featuring the likes of Mathew Jonson, Dixon, Marcel Dettmann, Floorplan, Palms Trax, The Black Madonna, and many more. The festival’s primary musical programming ends at around 11pm each night, but organizers have also scheduled a solid lineup of after parties featuring select CRSSD Festival acts which will go down at nightclubs and venues throughout San Diego. Highlights of the “After Dark” bill include a warm-up party on Friday night featuring All Day I Dream head Lee Burridge, Saturday night DJ sets from Breakbot at Bang Bang as well as Patrick Topping and KiNK at Spin, and an event at Music Box on Sunday featuring Cut Copy and a back-to-back DJ set from Gerd Janson and Prins Thomas. On Saturday night in Los Angeles, Cyclone’s new underground concept TBA Society will return in partnership with veteran events series Nuit Blanche following Cyclone and XLR8R’s stellar collaboration last weekend with Petre Inspirescu. For this proper warehouse shindig, organizers have recruited renowned Ukrainian selector and Propaganda regular Nastia for her LA debut. The Eastern European tastemaker rarely makes her way stateside, so this one’s not to be missed. Support will be provided by Cyclone residents HAAS and Highkin. Tickets can be found here.

Also on Saturday, Marques Wyatt’s legendary DEEP event series will return to West Los Angeles venue The Collective HQ. As with most DEEP events, Marques Wyatt is set to play an extended set. Joining the veteran West Coast selector will be the rising duo Dance Spirit, who are known for contributions to Akbal Music and Audiofly’s Flying Circus.
