To celebrate the release of Population One‘s Temporary Insanity EP, Terrence Dixon’s longtime running alias, the Detroit veteran has offered up a new track as an exclusive XLR8R download for today. Dixon, who just last year released three EPs on imprints like Modularz, 30drop and Reduction, has been busy exploring his more introspective side, going back to his retro and old-school sensibilities with the Temporary Insanity EP. This new record, which recently saw its release via Out-ER on February 8, features strong percussive elements and heady synths that help the producer create an erratic and extraterrestrial atmosphere.
Initially founded by Simone Gatto and Andrea Santoro, Out-ER was conceptualized as a platform for artists to pursue their ample inspirations and to release music that ranges from ambient, to house and techno music. Fellow Detroit veteran Juan Atkins, Efdemin, and Conforce, are among the artists who have previously collaborated with the imprint—illustrating the wide range of the Out-ER concept and openness.
