The veteran Detroit DJ/producer and noted music-gear specialist Mike Huckaby recently put together a custom sample kit for the German website Groove, which is now available to download for free. Consisting of samples culled from his brother playing percussion in a noisy Ohio cafe, a handful of vintage synths which Huckaby used in Vancouver, and sounds from a few of the man’s own Reaktor patches, the sample collection comes in the form of high-quality AIFF files or pre-formatted projects for Maschine and Ableton Live. You can download the 16-sample kit here and read up on the origins of each sound over on Groove.
