Originally studying to become a priest in the early 2000s, Brian Suarez became sidetracked in his mission to become a man of the cloth after being introduced to electronic music and and decided to “put down the bible and picked up electro.” The result: Gater, an electroclash-era NYC outfit that stood out from its contemporaries for its subdued take on the sound’s often angular version of synthesized dance music. Over a decade later, Suarez continues to pursue his musical endeavors while producing, DJing, and performing live under the guise Allies For Everyone. The track “Takes All Kinds,” which is being offered up today as an exclusive XLR8R download, was created by Suarez as a thank-you to all of his fans for the support he received in 2015 after his latest EP When You’re Gone made it to #27 on the Beatport Electronica chart. Seductive and aerial, Allies For Everyone‘s fluttering, dreamlike style shines through from start to finish, as Suarez’s misty vocals navigate the track through lush soundscapes and spiffy synth progressions.
