Next month Glasgow producer James Johnston will issue his From the Gutter to the Stars EP via fresh NYC label You Are Hear. Featured alongside Johnston’s slow-burning original on the EP—which will serve as the imprint’s third release—will be a total of 7 remixes including one from Deepblak label head Aybee as well as the rework featured here from Honor Among Thieves. On its remix, the self-proclaimed “mysterious music cult” twist the record’s title track into a sparse-but-steady jaunt towards the spacier and more eccentric ends of disco-indebted electronics. Johnston’s full From the Gutter to the Stars EP is set to land on October 6.
