Two years after its last album, Copenhagen band WhoMadeWho will self-release its Dreams LP on March 4, but before then, we’re treated to this elegant interpretation of album cut “Hiding In Darkness” from Friends of Friends affiliate Kyson. The producer’s dream-like rendition ruminates on the insecurities and anxiety of the softly chanted lyrics, which he scatters throughout the production. While “Hiding In Darkness (Kyson Remix)” is quite melancholy in subject matter and tone, fragments of optimism manage to shine through, manifesting itself in the form of quietly uplifting orchestral strings and child-like vocal snippets. It all leaves a lasting sense of comfort by the time Kyson ends his remix.
