LA-based producer Thavius Beck sent over the first leak from his forthcoming LP, The Most Beautiful Ugly, which is set for release on September 11 via Plug Research. “Imma Get So” is a lyricless tune driven by a crunchy hip-hop beat, autotuned vocal samples, and synths that wail inside the midrange frequencies. Beck’s production is made more dynamic with EKG blips, layers of organ chords, and funky bass riffs—possibly a nod to his teenage days spent perfecting his chops on the saxophone and bass. While the multifaceted artist doesn’t exactly employ the most complex of production methods on “Imma Get So,” he does create a nice vibe that would be well-suited for an end-of-summer block party.
