Romantic synth-pop disco duo and married couple Jesse Kivel and Zinzi Edmundson, who make up the Los Angeles based group Kisses, formed in 2010 and have since released three full length LP’s and become parents, effectively making them a trio. Kisses most recent release, Rest in Paradise, addresses the uncertainty of their future as a family and shows “how things pass on and are reborn in all sorts of different, strange and beautiful ways,” as the couple explains. Delivering a sweltering, cutting, and tropical acid house remix of the Kisses track “Control” for today’s XLR8R download is the local Los Angeles DJ, producer, journalist and DIY event organizer, Cooper Saver. Heading up the LA based party FAR AWAY, Saver has managed to host a great deal of impressive talent for his monthly show, including Tim Sweeney, Permanent Vacation, Beautiful Swimmers, Jack J, and most recently Jacques Renault. Having featured his remix of the Harriet Brown track “Stop Think” as a download earlier this year (link here), we have found that Saver demonstrates a true knack for dancefloor focused reworks that strike a unique balance between being enticingly winsome and deeply acidic.
