Young Portuguese producer Lewis Fautzi is set to again land on the Soma label later this month with Space Exploration, an eight-track album that digs into the depths of atmospheric techno. Pulled from the upcoming record is “IC 10,” a spacious excursion that cloaks a steady stream of almost tribal rhythms with rich pads and synthetic strings. Coming with a sinister edge, “IC 10” inches closer and closer to a boiling point without ever quite reaching it, instead electing to remain sunken in its dark, churning atmosphere throughout the piece’s four-minute run. While Fautzi’s “IC 10” production can be grabbed below, the budding talent’s upcoming Space Exploration LP—his second for Soma, following last year’s The Gare Album—can currently be previewed here before it sees an official release on March 23.
