Having just dropped his Dry Thoughts EP, Lobster Theremin affiliate Route 8 (pictured above) is clearly set on a certain tone with his appropriately titled “Relaxed Remix” of Steve Murphy‘s “Relax,” an laid-back cut of buoyant house. Route 8’s minimalist voyage across quiet bleeps and delicate hi-hat taps ethereally skips around a steady set of slowly changing sounds. As with most productions that are this sparse, what little elements available can make or break the atmosphere of a track. Thankfully, the meticulous producer achieves his calm aesthetic with aplomb on this version of Murphy’s mellowed-out tune.
