For the task of remixing his spacious, guitar-led “Saturn Boy” track, Dream Koala (pictured above) has enlisted the talents of Seattle producer and recent XLR8Rpodcast contributor Kid Smpl. In its original form on Dream Koala’s recent Earth. Home. Destroyed. EP, “Saturn Boy” is an introspective track which places the artist’s own vocals atop a lush bed of dreamy textures. On this rework, Kid Smpl elects to bury the tune under a heavy procession of rattling, distorted rhythms, which are eventually overtaken by sheets of noise that grow in force as the production progresses. Along with offering this free remix, Dream Koala also has a number of upcoming live dates which will see him tour across Europe this summer; full details can be found after the jump.
