Touching on a multitude of varied influences, the original version of “Spoken” by Hidden Orchestra remains virtually genre-less, its ambiguity serving as an easily manipulated sonic palette for rising UK producer Submerse to work with. Leaning on the original’s fluid and undulating rhythms, Submerse utilizes upbeat claps and introduces a mellow, bouncing bass to the production. The remixer then references the original again floating in brassy flourishes which come coupled with a swath of natural ambient textures that help close out the tune. “Spoken (Submerse Remix)” will be included on Hidden Orchestra’s forthcoming Archipelago Remixes Part 2, set to drop on May 12 via Tru Thoughts.
