Earlier this year, NYC producer Saftey Scissors delivered his adventerous In a Manner of Sleeping LP via BPtich Control. In that record’s wake, a number of remixes have been commissioned, including this one from budding Vancouver resident Loscil. Stripping the tune of virtually all its rhythmic components, Loscil’s remix relies on a simple assemblage of hi-hats to keep tempo while a calming stream of watery textures and airy strings fill the rework’s sonic field. When combined with Safety Scissors’ sweetly solemn singing, the elements form a deeply immersive and disarmingly meditative listen.
