In addition to the Eglo imprint he runs alongside Floating Points, Alexander Nut helms his very own Ho_Tep label. Two releases deep, Ho_Tep’s EPs have come from as equally eclectic a mix as what Eglo has put out—one from Throwing Snow and the other from Letherette—the former charting darker, techier sides of dubstep and the latter crafting short Dilla-nodding beats infused with jazz and funk. The third outing from Ho_Tep will feature yet another stand-alone, this one from London producer Mau’lin (pictured above), an artist who boasts as healthy a career in sound graffiti installations as proper 12″ releases. Titled Deeper Than the Sun, the EP is billed as an intersection of house and UK breakbeat styles, and features vocals from Canadian singer Amenta on the EP’s title track.
