Mauricio Barembuem (a.k.a Barem) has shared details surrounding his newest EP, set for release on July 1 via his and Alexis Cabrera’s recently launched imprint Fun Records. Fresh off a widely heralded set at Movement Detroit, the Argentinian DJ-producer continues to promote his label’s whimsical yet rough minimal house sound with this latest three-track EP. The record’s two original tracks, “nuF” and “Blup,” reflect Barem’s versatility as a producer—their tremendously catchy basslines and complex percussive elements are solid options for any occasion, be it an open-air sunset performance or a blurry morning in a dark club. Barembuem’s EP also features the first remix for Fun Records since last August, this time from Cocoon Recordings favorite Christian Burkhardt.

With the latest Fun Records EP, Barem and Cabrera have also announced three upcoming label showcases this summer. The first will take place at ipse in Berlin on June 24, where Barembuem and Cabrera will be joined by Carola Pisaturo and Subb-an. July 8 sees Fun Records return to its founders’ South American roots at Crobar in Buenos Aires, where fellow Argentinian Federico Molinari is set to perform. The parties will culminate in London on July 23 with an Unleash boat party featuring a b2b set from John Dimas and Djebali, followed by an after party at Village Underground, which will host a live set from Thomas Melchior.
