In a mere three years, Amsterdam’s Dekmantel Festival has become one of the summer festival circuit’s choicest events, with consistently strong bookings across the board. Now, its curators (who put together a special XLR8Rpodcast for us not long ago) have announced a satellite event in Croatia called Selectors, which is reportedly geared toward “celebrating the extraordinary DJs that turned collecting and playing music into an art form.” The first edition will be held at Garden Resort in Tisno, Croatia from September 1 through 5, and has already locked in the likes of Hunee, Helena Hauff, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Pender Street Steppers, The Black Madonna, and more. Ticketing information will be made available soon on the Dekmantel website, so keep an eye out.

Starting in March of the coming year, Dekmantel is also launching a Selectors compilation series. MCDE, Young Marco, and Joy Orbison will each curate one of the first three in the series, and they’re promising to dig deep into their collections. “I wanted to get some of the stuff that is really, really hard to get, and make it available for younger people,” MCDE explains in a press release.
