Enigmatic UK collective Old Apparatus has given us the exclusive premiere off its six-track Epirtsred EP, a free release full of eerie textures and otherworldy sonics. Since first appearing with a pair of records for Deep Medi back in 2011, Old Apparatus has quickly put together an extensive discography, releasing a string of EPs which finally culminated in this year’s Compendium LP for group’s own Sullen Tone label. The Epirtsred EP finds Old Apparatus covering a lot of sonic ground in its 30-minute run—beginning in a bath of droney noise before eventually moving on to moments of ominous beatwork and compositions made almost entirely of heavenly, far-reaching chords.
