After sharing a stream of new single “Higher” earlier this week, SBTRKT is now streaming another hip-hop-leaning LP cut, “Voices in My Head.” As the UK producer explains on his SoundCloud, the track—which features rapper A$AP Ferg—”was started in London (with an idea I recorded on an upright piano), [taken] to Los Angeles (set up at Fleas the Boat studio in Silver Lake) to collaborate further with Stella (drums) and Emily (vocals) from Warpaint, [then taken] back to London to work more arrangement ideas to it, and finally a couple months later [taken] to New York (Downtown – The Roots were in the studio next door!) [where I] collaborated with A$AP Ferg.”

The resulting piano-heavy song will close out SBTRKT’s upcoming Wonder Where We Land LP, which is slated to drop on October 7 via Young Turks. Again, SBTRKT himself explains, “This is one of my favorite tracks and seemed to be a fitting ending to the record too. [It] started with me having a seed idea, but [then grew] way beyond that with these multi-layers of collaboration and place.” “Voices in My Head” can be streamed in full below.
