UK imprint Artful Division has announced that its first V/A compilation is in the works, sharing a stream of Leon Vynehall‘s featured remix in the process. The EP arrives as the fourth installment in the young label’s catalog, following releases from Giovanni Damico, Rick Wade, and Jon Brooks & Cecil. This upcoming issue assembles original cuts from Chocky, Gnork, and Rauld Dancesol, with Vynehall (a former Bubblin’ Up artist on XLR8R) tasked with reworking the “whacked-out rhythmic funk” of German native Glenn Astro’s “Strings.” An alumnus of Martyn’s 3024 imprint and Clone Royal Oak series, Vynehall is said to take his cues from the original’s “heavily swung, broken groove,” blending “jazz licks and spaced-out chords amongst the robust drums.”

Artful Division V/A – Part 1 is set to see a vinyl release on November 10, with a digital version to be made available starting on December 8. Until then, the premiere of Vynehall’s “Strings” refix can be heard in full below, and clips for all other tracks on the EP (listed below) are available to stream via the imprint’s SoundCloud here.

1. Glenn Astro “Strings”
2. Chocky “Blow Down”
3. Rauld Dancesol “Too Much Saturday”
4. Glenn Astro “Strings (Leon Vynehall Translation)”
5. Gnork “Summer of Love”
