In a mix she made for Mary Anne Hobbs back in April, UK tunesmith Ikonika (a.k.a. Sara Abdel-Hamid) revealed a handful of unreleased tracks, which she has just announced will make up her next EP. Her own imprint, Hum + Buzz, will unleash the I Make Lists EP on July 16, and pare down its six tracks to three—”Cold Soaking,” “PR812,” and “I Make Lists”—for a vinyl release. I Make Lists will be the the the imprint’s fifth record and the first solo release to come from Ikonika since 2010, the year her debut LP Contact, Love, Want, Have arrived via Hyperdub. Also, on June 15, the DJ/producer will be celebrating her upcoming EP at London’s Rhythm Factory with a two-hour set, as well as appearances by Mr. Beatnick and Hum + Buzz co-owner Optimum.
